    I don't know anything about this. Any info or comments are cool.
    I'm just showing it off here. I found it at a flea market from a couple who live in Norman, Oklahoma. Honestly, I just bought it because I like the color, not because I collect railroad lanterns.

      Star Headlight & Lantern Company made several different Battery operated Brakeman's hand lanterns. This model used a 6 volt lantern battery and has two bulbs inside the red fresnel globe. A sliding selector switch lights either bulb depending on which way you slide it. Your model is probably the 215 which came out in the late 1950s and was replaced in the early 1970s with an all plastic model called the Model 222. The red globe was used for a warning light an the end of a car or locomotive. The Star Headlight & Lantern Company started in the late 1800s and I think they are still in business today.
