She has no markings. She is 29". Her head is composition? Her Arms and Legs hard plastic with cloth body. (she has black heel shoes painting on). Guessing around the mid 30's. Unfortunately whoever restored her put to much eye make-up on her. (as you can see allot more on one eye).
What I fell in love with was her dress . Mani, Once again I Need your help!!!!!

      Hi Kathy
Your doll is is called a boudoir doll or bed doll . She was at the end of time for them as early one's were made in France all silk hand painted faces , felt ones made by Lenci and composition . One of the sought after one's is called a Smoker . She had a cigarette in a little hole in her mouth . Yours is attributed to US made and is not as sought after as early ones .
These were meant to sit on a ladies bed not made to be child's dolls. Most have a very art deco look and are very collectible . Yours being more common to find and later date is still collectible but does not bring the interest and price of the older and well known company made ones , like Lenci for example .
Her eye make up is correct it is original to her and they did have heavy make up and since these composition dolls were mass produced and not that that expensive at the time the painting can be from very finely detailed to a little off as yours but she has not been restored her face is correct and it is in original dress. I have seen her in this dress before . Very pretty Kathy . Many of the composition one's did not hold up well and are often found needing facial restoring . Your's held up nicely .

      Mani,
Thank you so much for all the info. I will have to look around for one made in France. I won her on E-bay for $69.99. I'm glad I didn't buy her to make money. I just fell in love with her dress. I am putting another one on that I also just recently won on E-bay for $103.00. I already did some research on her and know I over paid. Next time if you don't mind, before I do any bidding on dolls I will check it out with you. Like always you're the BEST!!!!! Kathy

Anytime you see one you like drop me a note before you bid . I have a good friend that collects bed dolls and she has found some wonderful rare ones . Like all things collectible first you have to love it and then if your looking down road for resale rare is always better . I love the art deco look of them I prefer in lounging pants and shirts as many were dressed that way . So many of the dress's are worn out and many have been replaced which is ok if doll has all the other love factors and oh the ones with high heels sewn on are very nice too :-) Thanks for sharing these Kathy . Lovely

      Hi Mani,
Thanks Mani, I will do that! I do see that they are pretty high up in price. If you happen to come across one at a real good price let me know. I really don't want to spent anymore than two/three hundred, if that's possible. Also, I made a mistake as you can see on prices of dolls. This one is the one I had won for $103. Yes I know I over paid. Next time I'll know better. The other one is the right price. So I guess I did alright by her.
You're just "One Wonderful Lady" & I appreciate all your help. Kathy
