I bought this coke machine from at a garage sale several years ago and have been hanging on to it in order to take it on as a restoration project. It works and is extremely cold when turned on. It came with several vintage coke and 7-up bottles on the rack. Does anybody have insight as to what year it is exactly and what it would be worth? Is it better to keep it original? Any place to purchase a new replacement decal for the front? Any feedback would be appreciated and very glad I found this web page!
I believe it is a Vendo machine from the 1960's to 1970. It is not a very highly desired one, but can bring anywhere from $100 to $300 possibly more
Actually, these machines are becoming more and more collectible as the other machines have soaring prices. I have a similar Cavalier machine from the early 60's (I got for free, it was being thrown away with a candy pull knob vendor).
These square top, pull bottle machines are cool and easy to restore. There are several websites available that can help with restorations, parts lists etc. One main issue is what color red to use. There are several red choices which are sure to bring out debate.
I wouldn't restore it at all, but that's just me.
keep the original decal it will make it worth more
If its a bottle machine can it be adapted for cans ?Just wondering?

Just wondering....If i give it a wax/polish as I would do an auto would that even work for getting it out of storage and into my house before I do a real restoration?

I have a simular machine. I don't believe cans will work. you can find the bottles of coke, orange crush, sprite, diet coke, and some grape drinks at sams, krogers, walmart etc. what makes your machine unique is the bottle rack on the side, these racks are hard to find and expensive. the machine looks great, just plug it in, fill it up, and use it. Enjoy the Real Thing you can find replacement decals on ebay
