hi, i just got this very unusual plate today...lol...well sort of... a plate? i don't know what to call it and i have never seen one before. i was impressed because it was not broken. the flowers are applied and each petal is still intact :) it also has some asian character writing but i still can't read asian....i am hoping someone will know what it is and what it says :D...please leave me a message....love this site!
sure would be nice if CW would hire an asian antique expert ;)

How intricate! I would have broken some of those petals for sure by now!

I am using a translator app on my smartphone for a similar plate. You might try doing that to learn more. The app that I am using is "Google Translate." This is hard to do with an online photo. The one that I was studying was from Jingdezhen, China.
