I believe this to be a "Frank Special". I picked this sign and am really looking for some specific information regarding the sign, other than what is on google. Help?

Just taking a guess. A sign would not have rivits as this does. This looks like a piece of a boxcar that had the logo on it. It looks like a large piece. I hope this helps.

This is most likely a 1960's era auto rack car logo. The railroads leased the racks that held the automobiles; (they were removable from the flatcars), and the railroads made simple sheet metal or fiberglass logos to slide into slots to indicate their identity. if the racks were returned to the lessor and re-leased to someone else, it was easy to simply slide the old one out and the new one in. I have one with a PRR Keystone logo. It also has grommet holes for mounting in other systems.

It is a sign off of a piggyback trailer most likely circa 1960's. I also have one in my collection.
