    these sculptures are pretty rare and performed in amsterdam school style this was an art deco style performed by a group of artists in holland wich used alot of styled natural beings (plants and animals) combined with all sorts of craftsmanship in carpentry, architecture in the 1920s

      i recently encountered a piece like this in the exhibition about the 100 year existance of het scheepvaarthuis (a very important amsterdam school style building) in het stedelijk museum in amsterdam...
