GEA: Today I was lucky to increase my collection and great passion for antique micro mosaic jewelry with this pieces. This great pendant in
special shape that you do not so much come across and a diameter of 4 cm problably dated around 1900s/1920's. After testing it's made of vermeil (gold over silver layer) and there is a hallmark which I cannot decode. The pendant is very colorfull and nice to wear don't you agree? Have you any idea of the period? Please your reaction!

The hallmark looks like a face. Could you try another shot to get a better pic of the numbers?

sarahoff thanks for your interest and comment with your question. I added another pic but as you can see there is no face it are two letters I think to read a P and a D. If there was a face it was probably an Italian vintage silver mark. Thanks anyway!

I can still see the outline of a face but now facing down and the D looks like a cap on his head:)

Could it be Indian Meenakari work?

First time posting and loving this site. Hope to have a collection like this for my special lady someday!

newlycollection, thanks for you for your question. No, this is definitely no Meenakari work. The base for Micro Mosaic jewelry is in Italy 18th-19th century. After that, micro mosaic jewelry has also been made in other European countries. But it can of course always be that the creator of this jewel is inspired by these Meenakari jewelry. If you want to read more about Micro Mosaic please look at my site: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/user/Agram.m/micro-mosaic-jewelry
If you search well you will also be able to get a very nice collection, wishing you success!
