KPM company Germany made fine porcelain . I am not a dinner ware expert but they also made some of the finest and sought after China dolls from 1800's which is my area of knowledge on them. Your plate is very plain for their work so it seems it was used by a train or ship ect ? Not the fancy wealthy home . Hope one of our experts will ID it for you .
      Some history on name
The initials “K.P.M.” are found on works made by more than a single German porcelain manufacturer was originally first used at the Meissen factory. It was first used there to designate imperial patronage under the title of Konigliche Porzellan Manufacktur in 1723. When the Berlin Factory was opened in 1832, the K.P.M. mark was used again to identify the Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur.
Other porcelain makers used similar marks to lure customers. One small one firm opened in Waldenburg, Germany in 1820, founded by C.S. Rausch. It had only one kiln. Another opened by Traugott Hay and was taken over by Carl Franz Krister who worked at the Rausch facility. He founded his own firm in 1831. Imitatation KPM marks were claimed to represent the “Krister Porzellan Manufaktur.” His production became well known and won medals at various expositions. Krister died in 1869 but the firm remained a family business until 1920. Thereafter ownership passed to the Rosenthal group with majority ownership in a holding company.
The name remained the same until 1945 when Waldenburg was occupied by Russian troops. All German citizens were forced to leave Waldenburg except skilled workers who were required to stay to train Polish immigrants. In 1852 the factory was re-named “Fabryka Porcelany Krzysztof.” In 1965 it moved to Marktredwitz in Bavaria.
