Sometimes an old, authentic Coca-Cola piece exceeds expectations. Such is the case with this early vendor carrier I purchased off a bid auction last week. I had to go deep, but the cool factor is off the chart in my opinion. Holds 12 bottles, measures roughly 9 1/2" x 12" x 3". Seller was out of Elizabethtown, Ontario, Canada, just a stones throw from New York state. I believe this antique originated in the eastern U.S., probably used at a small ball field during the 20's.

Best Regards,

p.s. Recently loaded the carrier with 12 Christmas patent bottles. Looking Good.

Yeah but where gonna another one of these? That's gotta be from the early fifties, judging from the cost of a Coke, 10 cents.

Thanks Perry. That concerned me as well. Before I bid I consulted with earlycoke and TGBWC and concluded the 10¢ included the deposit. My thought was that those early bottles were substantial and the venue no doubt wanted to encourage immediate return, rather than say a fan heaving them out onto the field or leaving as trash to be stepped on or broken. The trademark detail is 1903-1931. The Coca-Colo logo looks just like that on my 1915 banner. I believe this to be a very early, rare carrier.

Nice score Dave! Looks like it's a very early piece, and only in Canada you say....pity!!

Thanks Bernie! Growing up in S.Central Michigan during the 70's, my brother and I played hockey, and we picked up CBC from the Detroit area market. So I've always known cool things come out of Canada. It's great to see this sweet piece find it's way to me through The True North Strong and Free.

Hey Tommy, Thanks. Hope you're home soon. Perry and I were just whining about the business travel. Return soon and start snagging some sweet stuff (Christmas candy and old Coca-Cola pieces)!

Thanks spriteboy42, good to hear from you! I found a seller with a dozen bottles for sale, great condition, all with the Christmas patent. So purchased them for insert into this carrier (added a pic, first one). I do enjoy displaying this piece. Hope all is well. Thanks again for stopping by.
