Ok So... How would I know if this was the first print or the one from the 40s? anyone have any ideas on the date of the pic or how to identify difference?

Such a cute print ! I am not sure it is Shirley Temple but she does resemble her and many mothers made their little girls up to look like her during the 40's and 50's . Love it !

This person thinks it might be Shirley but I have my doubts since anything with her photo or likeness was under contract and with her approval . I think he just painted cute children :-)

I saw it online as Shirley Temple print! I am excited to explore the link that Manikin has shared! Keep me posted Please if anyone figures it out...
He did do art covers for the Post magazine . But again he would have to say Shirley Temple if it was meant to be her. A fun hunt for answer to this one . I can say it has a C on it for copywrite so it is not an original but more of a mass produced piece . His originals do not have C and are hand signed :-)

I am still wondering if she is not a Shirley look a like girl . Her likeness is similair to maybe circumvent all her legal protection to anything to do with her and her trademark rights were tough and still are .
In movie Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farms she dressed in coveralls like the print .

I can't find any place other than a random source to verify he named this as Shirley Temple just online auctions saying it is her ? or a girl that looks like her much like the face of the little boy he did with a dog named "Sympathy "
