The Tomte is a human-like creature of Scandinavian folklore. He/she possesses 'magical' powers, and is empowered to protect the home and family. You cannot see the receptacle here, but this is a stoneware candle holder. A Christmas present from a friend.

Observe the length of Tomte's stride? Even with magic, he has to hustle to keep pace with the Skotte! : )) Safety note: Humans should not attemp to walk a Skotte while wearing wooden clogs!
