Although I suspect that this beautiful Opaline Blue Candleholder could be of a French Glassmaker Origin, I have been unable to find another example or any writen info. on it anywhere. It has a very Classical form in its 6-sided base and socket and long corinthian column body. It measures 7 5/8" tall , has a 3 5/8"" base, a 2" socket with a 7/8" candlehole. I date it based on the color which reminds me of the blue seen in Napoleon III toilet sets. If anyone can enlighten me on the maker and exact origin, I would truly appreciate it. The two full photos are daylight photos and show the exact color of the Blue Opaline. Detail (darkish) photos were taken under lamplight. RER (LOUMANAL)

Oh!!! I must follow you! I have missed these gorgeous things! I LOVE your collection!!!

I just saw you post a comment on another member's item, and it revealed a keen connoisseur of glass. Here is a link to an unsolved show and tell posted some time ago by Deanteaks. Hope you recognize it. Thanks a lot!!! : )

Thanks miKKOChristmas11! My area of "intense knowledge"...notice I didn't say Expertise.... is Glass Oil Lamps since it has been a passion of mine since 1973 when my mom brought back 5 lamps from my Grandfather's house in New Brunswick, Canada. I did some research on the lamps from the scant information available at the time...books mostly, and found out that these lamps that dated from the late 1880's often matched patterns of tableware made at the time by Glass Companies operating in the American Mid-West and East coast states. This early research was the catalyst to a life-long love of Glass collecting, selling, appraising. I do not have a large collection of lamps but I have tried to collect those that appealed to me the most....about 40 of them. I sold glass at small shows, on eBay and I sometimes will sell from my home to people, especially at Christmas , who want to buy something old and different as Christmas gifts. I do not have a Glass Collection per say, but I will own and cherish a beautiful piece until it is time to let someone else enjoy it. There is so much to see and learn and so little time. As you grow older, you have to develop an interest and a passion for something you enjoy or you get old/miserable faster. LOL We are living in a much different and faster world than the one that I grew up in during the 50's and 60's. Thank you for the "keen connoisseur of glass" title that you have bestowed on me....I will accept that! RER (BOB) (LOUMANAL)

Would there be the match for this candlestick out there? I know that the chances are slim but......
