This is very rare original Cox & Roosevelt presidential campaign watch fob dated 1920. James M. Cox ran for president of the United States in 1920 & had selected Franklin D. Roosevelt as his running mate. These fobs were attached to a pocket watch with a leather strap so that the owner could hang it on the outside of their pocket while the watch was inside. It is made of brass. It measures approximately 1 5/8" x 1 3/8" (4.1 cm x 3.5 cm) in size. It has high relief portraits of Cox & Roosevelt against a stars & stripes shield background. This particular presidential & vice-presidential jugate fob is harder to find than the other variation they had. Also contributing to it's rarity is the fact that the democrats didn't have a lot of money to spend on them, so not many were made.

The plating likely wore off. It looks like it has been through a lot.

I don’t know the exact reason why they didn’t have a lot of money. Harding (their Republican opponent) had a 4 to 1 spending advantage. He spent over 8 million on his campaign & Cox spent 2 million on his.
