I am hoping that someone can help me identify this piece. We don't know anything about it other than that it was my fiance's fathers.

Yes, it looks silver and I think this is what I have:
10 piastres, 32 mm diameter, 0.375 ounces of silver
two dates on the coin I think are 1939 and 1358
I am not 100% sure yet, but I will keep investigating!
The coin in the bezel is an Egyptian 10 piastres dated 1939. The 1358 is the AH date. The coin is .833 fine silver, and should weigh 14 grams
