This is a cold painted bronze hare, circa.1900. Its about 1.5 inches high.

My wife has a thing about hares, so I bought this for her when I was working in Paris. They were giving me so much expenses money, I had to spent it on something.

Ahh i love this. I have a cold paintted bronze mouse probably about the same age as your hare. I just wondered if yours has a makers mark or signature on it anywhere? I've scrutinised my mouse but can find any, which seems crazy, as its so well sculpted you'd think the maker would want to sign it.

Sorry Fran it has no marks what so ever. We have some Siamese cats too and the aren't marked either.

Its a shame they're not marked.
The sculpt and painting on this, and the mouse, are so good.

This is really amazing looking. It really looks like the Franz Bergman sculptures from Vienna. So very detailed!!!

Thanks jscotto, it is lovely. It is a pity I bought it in the antiques market in tourist trap land in Paris, so I probably paid Franz Bergman money for it. My wife loves it and that is the main thing.
