I've had this cement planter for awhile and it is very difficult to move. i think it weighs something like 300 lbs, which is great to prevent theft, but a real pain to move around. i planted a rare manzanita in it. The tree shots i took in Point Reyes National Seashore on Sunday. It's an Aesculus californica - or California Buckeye. at it's thickest point, the trunk is 14 ft across - a world record for the species by far. there's no trail to it and i just stumbled across it a few years ago. We did some of the filming with Universal Studios for the movie which came out last year - Snow White and the Huntsman here [i was a location scout for the flick]. The last picture is of another Manzanita i planted in an old pot. i'm trying to bonsai them, but they can be difficult and i'm using the term 'bonsai' rather loosely here.

That is a bizarre looking tree, I like it though & the Manzanita is cool to.
