A lucky Ebay purchase for 26 bucks about two years ago. Boy was I surprised to find Wallace Stev"ens signature above his epic poem, The Comedian as the Letter C. The seller had no idea it was in there. Two other works by Wallace Stevens were sold in the same time frame, both were sold as 'signed copies' and after contacting one of the sellers, at least two of the books were purchased at the same auction on the east coast. The other two books contained notations from a mysterious other poet or singer. The third photo is of the notation in my book with the initials that to me, are not clear enough to say for certain what they are in terms of letters. The notation reads: "he pencil'd numbers are the order in wich the poems appear in a cycle of songs which I sing by Vincent Persichetti called 'Harmonium' " Throughout the book, the owner has indicated in pencil the various poems and verses that he must have sung as a performance.

I actually took this book to the Antiques Roadshow but that awful Ken Gloss practically threw the book in my face and said it would take a great deal of research to determine who the person making the notations might be. I have to say, that guy is full of himself. Very unpleasant. Anyhows. Maybe someone here has a notion of who the mysterious initials belong to.

:) Oh he was all that and a bag of chips. But my sister and I had a blast in El Paso. What a trip it was.
