I bought these vintage martini glasses for my husband's Christmas gift. Since the TV show Madmen became so popular, so did the vintage home products they used on set. The prices for period martini glasses were sky high!. I was fortunate to find these on eBay at a bargain price. as the seller had them listed as champagne glasses.
I would love to identify the maker and pattern, but haven't had any luck They appear to be crystal with an etched sheaf of wheat or grass pattern, no marks on the base. I should have taken a picture next to a modern martini glass as these are small in comparison, at about 4.5" high with a capacity of just over 3 floz!
If you are a lover of old movies like my hubby, North by Northwest has a scene in the diner car of the train, where Cary Grant is drinking a martini out of a similar size glass.
