WW2 Trench Art ashtray. This one is very simplistic in design. The base shell is from a MK 7, 50 cal USN shell. It was cut and then British coins were attached for the cigarette rests.

The shell is 1942 dated. The half penny coins are dated 1937, 42 and 44.

    wow... So interesting to find this. I got one of these from an estate sale. I had no idea what it is. I will take a photo and post it soon.
