This is another one of the necklaces my grandma gave me. I had two other great aunts that had past away before I was born or was really young. My grandfather was born in 1888 (that's not a typo). His sisters I think were about the same age. I think this actually belong to one of them. It wasn't my grandma's style. It is an open back rhinestone necklace. It's marked Czech and looks like it was silver plate over brass. It is heavy and the stones go all the way around. I think I have only worn it a handful of times because I think I might break it or lose it. It's one of my hunker chunkers.

Beautiful color! I love Czech jewelry. Probably 1920s or 1930s. Czechoslovakia become a country in 1918 after WWI.

Thanks! Czech jewelry is really fun and colorful. I have a few more Czech pieces, but this is my favorite. That's about the date I was thinking too! but I didn't know about when it was made a country. Thanks for the info!

No, I love it way too much! :-). But if I ever found one at an estate sale like it I would probably sell it. But that hasn't happened, yet....
