Solid Brass, rough cast of a plane with cigarette tray under it. Picked it up from antique store. Only told that it was trench art from WW2 Wonder if anyone knows where it was made.

This could be pre WWII and made as a celebration of speed and the acheivements of the de Havilland DH.88 Comet a twin-engined British aircraft that won the 1934 MacRobertson Air Race, a challenge for which it was specifically designed. It set many aviation records during the race and afterwards, as a pioneer mail plane. The clean lines of the DH.88, especially in the striking colours of Grosvenor House, make it a true design classic.
I think there are two original survivors, one being the DH88 Comet Racer 'Grosvenor House' at Shuttleworth Collection, in the UK, this one is still in flying condition!!
Your ashtray is more than likely to have been made in the UK.
    Very nice!

    Nice plane.

This particular style of solid brass plane and tear drop base is typical of UK construction of the WW2 era.
