Clear glass has never been that interesting to me, but this piece is an exception. It stuck out from all the other mundane floral vases like a beacon ! It has a wonderful shape. It's 8 1/2" tall, 7" at the shoulder with a thick flat rim on top. The bottom is angled and 3 " thick.! It makes the piece extremely heavy for it's size and it sparkles like fine crystal. It was dirty with water marks inside when I bought it but I liked the shape and heft. I couldn't believe how it looked after a little soap and water ! It did show up one tiny little nick in the rim though . -Mike-
Perhaps Polish, Krosnos?
Hi Amber Rose,
That's a possibility. I've had guesses from my other forum ( I Antique Online) of Scandanavian (older Orrefors ,Dansk) to Stuben USA and Kosta. I saw a mini Dansk Fiori vase that was similar but not this big. -Mike-
You were right on the money Amber Rose Krosno of Poland it is ! I'll add the picture from online to the photos above. It would have had a clear label that simply read "Krosno Poland " -Mike-
I'm half Polish too. How appropriate ...lol Maybe that's why I was attracted to it !
I have recently acquired what appears to be an identical vase and it's label reads "DANSK
INTERNATIONAL DESIGNS LTD.
POLAND"
Does anyone know how old it is?
