This beautiful Art Deco clock is made of white marble and made between 1928 and 1931. The dial is signed and manufactured by "Whitehall Hammond." It measures 12" wide, 8" tall and 3" wide. It features two Art Deco styled sloping brass birds, one on each side. The seller thought the birds were eagles, but with the cowed neck and long tail feathers they remind me more of a bird of paradise.

Whitehall - Hammond, partnered to produced opulent marble, Onyx, and alabaster clocks from 1928 until 1931 when the depression put an end to these expensive mantel clocks (see the other Whitehall - Hammond clocks in my collection). Laurens Hammond kept manufacturing clocks until 1941.

The clock was sold as not working, I plugged it in and gave the primer a spin and off she took. The clock is quiet and does not growl.
