I have no idea how to categorize this so i just guessed!
I think this is a rare item! This little porcelain trinket has been a mystery to me for at least 3 years. I have reseached what I can on Asboro Germany products & all I find is wooden needle containers & such. I have never been able to find any thing made of porcelain especially something like this & very little to do with anything else.
At first look I thought it was a toothpick holder, but no, it has a hole in the bottom. I have considered, staying with the sewing idea, it had been a pin cushion-maybe?? A friend of mine suggested it might have been a token given out to companys who sold their products & might be made to hold the small wooden cases of sewing needles.
It is small, pear shaped with 2 handles. One side shows a lady with only a skirt & I believe pantaloons showing. She has nothing on waiste up. there is a snake at each side of her. On the reverse is a man with a head dress(?) & only a skirt on. He is bare from the waiste up & I believe legs are bare or has tights. He is swinging two swords, & pots of flowers on each side. The porcelain is thin, delicate, white with a brown wash (what we would now call antiquing). It measures 4 3/4" tall; 2 3/16" across widest part of the bottom; 8 1/2 " around larest part at bottom; 1 3/4" across top; 5 1/2" around smallest part at top.
Any help with this item would be appreciated.

Åsbro is a small city in Sweden.

Your object is missing its top. I just gave one to my wife.
With the compete item, it is more obvious that using it for sewing accessories is not its forte. However, it is well designed for a cone incense burner.
