I found this doll at a local thrift store in Denver Co. and was curious as to its age and construction. The body is a soft stuffed and the head/arm/legs are a hard material with what I think is a plaster material covering. I cannot find any tag or indication of maker. Any help as to age and possible manufacturer would be most welcome.

Doll is made of composition and it is in pretty bad shape , composition when not stored right and dampness is it worse enemy will crack ,split and peel . Dates from 1920-1940. Most likely a made in USA doll and several companies made these . We call them Mama dolls as they usually had a crier in stomach a hard round object you can feel. Your's seems to be a boy . The original clothes may have had the makers name sewn into a label . Hard to know who made him but he has nearly no value in today's market so I would not worry about maker . To have him completely restored is very expensive and would not be worth the value of doll . If you love him just dress him up and enjoy him :-) He has a charm about him a bit of a character face rather than just a dolly face . You don't mention height and because back of neck is so damaged if the maker had their name there it has chipped off .
