This is an old entertainment center of my grandmothers by Westinghouse. It has a glass top that goes with it and also has a pull out phonograph and a built in radio with a door at bottom for records. I am wondering how to describe this piece for insurance purposes. Looks like it was made in 50's and is pretty good condition. I used to play some old Victor Borga 78s on the thing over 30 years ago, and it worked!! If you have seen this line before, send me a pic. Interested in seeing others like this style. It is a pretty big piece of furniture/stereo.

I have always thought it was as well. I love the flaring of the wood grain.
      Thanks

I was searching the web for a particular piece of furniture from my childhood and found its twin on your post. It is no longer in my family but was probably purchased in the mid 1940's. It was a beautiful, solid piece. I do not know if you are aware, but there is tricky feature with the bottom speaker. If you open the two lower record storage cabinets and push in on the speaker, then push left or maybe right, it swivels and solid matching wood appears. I'd love to know if yours does this. I cannot tell you the memories this piece has for me!

I have one as well, bought it over 40 years ago from a friend. Going to have it refinished soon. Mine also has that speaker feature that turns around. Can’t wait to get it refinished!

My Uncle was an executive for Westinghouse and gave one of these units to my mother many, many years ago. I have since taken ownership and would like to restore it, but the radio parts have been disassembled to the point I have no idea where to start.
Was hoping you might have some close up pictures of how the radio controls and face-plate is assembled?

I can't believe it! I have that same piece. I have never tried to use mine or even plug it in. It was my grandparents, My uncle gave it to my when he needed the space. And it has moved several times with me.
