This is the ring that I posted in my bakelite book ring box a few wks ago and Moonstonelover asked to see it up close - sorry for the pix. My camera works best outside but it's an old camera. Anyway...
Pretty green iridescent stone pic #3 shows color best 5/16" square - not open on the back- size 4.75
Pics 1 & 2 show the setting. There are no marks inside - maybe it was resized or marks rubbed off.
When I purchased this I thought it was a 70's remake but now looking at it I can tell it has better craftsmanship - not just because the stone isn't open on the back - but the interesting setting.
Any thoughts are much appreciated and thank you all in advance.
Thank you bratjdd, Lee, nldionne and Tony for your love.
I am still puzzled about the gemstone. Love the ring!!!
Maybe this is a synthetic stone. I have some old ads in my research books from the 20's that sell "synthetic color stones set in silver". Not sure either. Thank you!
Thank you Phil for your love.
Thank you inky and Newtimes!
Thank you betweenthelens, bratjdd, torocat, mikelv85, vintagejewel, sean, bhock and Claudia for loving this ring. The more I look at it the more I think it's a synthetic stone that got wet or was damaged somehow. But the setting is lovely and it's still a pretty old ring.
Gorgeous!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
Thanks Miss Aim for your nice comment! Thank you blackshiep, vansky and Nadia for your love and everyone else.
