    Hand chasing.
With this method, silver is moved with a small pointed tool and a small mallet. It is much like what you'd do if you used a stick to draw in the sand. Silver is not removed, but designs are drawn in the metal with the tool using a small mallet. This method is also used to produce a textured background in the design.

Not English sterling marks. It is a 'salt'. Would have had a Bristol blue glass liner to stop corrosion.

Ok...Thank you V.....It does have a blue glass insert. You cant really see it in pic 2 that well, but there is one.... It says made in England......Is it sterling?

If it says Made in England, what else could it be ?? Im confused....

Not sterling. Any English silver must have "hallmarks" otherwise it cannot be sold. English marks have four elements: sterling guarantee, city mark, date letter and a makers mark.

Its not from condensation, chlorine is one of the two things that silver reacts to (sodium chloride, table salt).
