My mother received this as a gift from her bosses wife. All I know is that it is from Italy. It is very heavy for its size. It is about 3 inches tall and about 7 inches in diameter. It also has what appears to be a gold speckled inlay. There is no stamp or any other markings showing the manufacturer that I can tell. Any ideas what it may be or anything? There aren't any places near me that I know of to take it to.

100% Italian, from the island of Murano. In particular, I believe it is most likely by Archimede Seguso, but it could also be by Fratelli Toso or one of the other important Italian glass firms. The technique is typically referred to as "Zanfirico", but others often lump it in with the "Latticino" technique.

      A very nice bowl.
