When I first saw this 9-1/4 inch PG 1/104 vase on an auction site the seller said that the rim of the piece was not round. This kept some bidders away, so I went ahead and bought it anyhow. It turns out the rim is just slightly wavy as you can see from the pic, but is perfactly round. (2001)

I see nothing wrong with the shape. How tall is it? It matches Series II Prod. Nr. 757, which is listed as being 168 mm (about 6.5").
Oops, I see you mentioned the size already. The one in the book is shorter, but there may be an earlier PN from Series I.
JayHow- Yes, the rim is fire polished. If you enlarge the photo you will see that fire polishing has formed a bead around the rim.
