I don't know the exact date - I would say mid to late 1950's. Left green enamel on copper marked Matisse and the other is marked Renoir. Not one chip on these earrings and bracelet. I believe this design and am looking for the red enamel. I rarely find "sets" and sometimes I stand there in a daze..."do I have a matching piece to this? should I buy it?..."

Renoir was a California company started in 1946 by Jerry Fels, Curt Freiler and Nat Zausner. A very good research source is the book "Copper Art Jewelry, a different lustre" by Matthew Burkholz and Linda Lichtenberg Kaplan.

I wear all 3 together. Also have plain copper Renoir earclips that match.

Thank you Sean, Lee, Amber, vetraio50 and DrFluffy for your love and comments. I was bidding on a matching item on ebay tonight so I thought I would stay in the copper mood and share what I have.

There's a lot of it here. I used to think it was dimestore jewelry, but I read that it was never that cheap and offered in department stores, boutiques and jewelry stores. Then in the 60's-70's it wasn't popular so there was a lot to be found in thrift stores. My collection started when a friend found over 20 pr of clip earrings for .25 each and my FIRST REBAJES I started collecting copper.
