Had to go deep, back-back-back to the warning track!, to acquire this scarce celluloid sign from the 1940's. Purchased as a result of... cringe... a bid auction for right around 3/4 book value. The sign exhibits some deterioration of gold foil edge, likely from exposure to sunlight. I referenced the earlycoke.com Price Guide to find the right bid point, to good effect (I highly recommend it). This beauty joins three other versions hanging vertically along a narrow exposure of wall next to the Coke Cave wet bar. This view of my collection is not often seen in other pictures, as much of the action occurs on the opposite wall.
I do enjoy seeing other member's pieces and hearing about their diverse experiences, as well as sharing my love of collecting Coca-Cola signs and ad pieces. Thanks everyone for participating in a great website, Collectors Weekly.

Great find Dave! My truck has been pullin me away from the Coke world lately but this celluloid sign is a heck of a find indeed.

Thanks Ray. I saw a Japanese version go for over 4 last week. I had to stray from my BIN strategy to get this one and yes I paid a premium. I hope to find other versions at a reasonable price, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks again for stopping by.
