I bought these old folding chairs at an auction recently. There are no manufacturers markings or identifying marks on them. They are of steel and wrought iron construction. They are heavy. They fold very nicely and are in overall good condition. Any information as to vintage , manufacturer and value would be greatlt appreciated. Thank You, Chris

Gorgeous chairs!! Thanks for posting them! I have been looking, but can't find any with the same design as yours. I've seen a few for $350 and some higher. They were listed as made in the late 1800's. Here is one, but like I said, it's not the same design as yours. http://www.jaysonhomeandgarden.com/product.php?productid=6224

Take another look at the chairs very closely, look for any marks or numbers... anything would help identify them.

Check these out, they are very close to yours!! The only problem I see with these is that someone painted them and recovered the seats.... I would have liked to see what they looked like originally. Says they were made by a Chicago company.

Thanks tikiray. These look to have very old paint and wood seats. I hope to learn more about them. Thanks again for the info.

Did anyone find an answer to this query? I also have 4 of these chairs.
Please let me know if so?

A few years ago, I saw the attached picture of an iron chair in a New York Magazine interior design feature story, placed in a boudoir room decorated by Victoria Hagan.

Since I own a set of 4 of these chairs, I am wondering if you would be able to tell me the origins — period, who made them, country of origin. Any insight or suggestions of how to find out would be much appreciated. I found them in an antique store over 40 years ago and haven’t stumbled on any more information.

Looks like you can find one in eBay right now but is no story behind so who made this chair still question mark.

These were made by Burlin Products Co. in Chicago. I have a set of four, and would love to find more, so if anyone else has any they might be willing to part with, let me know! pmplmus@gmail.com
