ok madame alexander doll collectors i have a mystery to solve... my grandmother has/had a 1965 madame alexander crier doll who still cries, a pussycat i believe. anyhow i have tried to get info on her but i have not found one matching her description. most are blond with blue eyes, she has brown eyes and blondish red.... any info? i wanted to give her to my niece but my friend said i should wait til she's older because she could be "too special" to let get messed up by a four year old.....

    thanx a bunch

She is a Pussycat doll and not something for a child to play with. They come up on Ebay all the time with all kinds of hair color

Yes, yes. That is a Pussycat doll and they do have a small voicebox sewn into their bodies. I have one myself, and if she is 14 inches tall, she is approximately valued at $110.oo.

I'd like to know where you are selling your dolls, because the market is down big time for dolls! I see plenty that are listed for high amounts, but completed listings is what counts. The highest price I'm seeing right now is around $60, and that all depends on hair and eye color and condition.

Hi - it's been years since this posted but here I am, an expert only in Mme Alex KITTEN (I wrote an unpublished history as so much confusion due to the reissue in the 80's having the 1961 date on the neck!) I need history on Pussy Cat as I have 2 big ones but they differ vastly! One is hard vinyl (head and limbs) and the other is the soft vinyl but both have 1965 on their necks! At first I assumed the same thing happened as with kitten (reissue/using old molds and leaving date on old mold for reissue...) BUT the Pussy Cat babies of the 1970's are dated properly i.e the 1977 Pussy Cat's have 1977 on the neck). So, I'm trying to figure out when the company switched over to using hard vinyl (which doesn't have the nice coloring and the limbs a less plump as well) Also, I believe all the brown-eyed, pupil-less Pussy Cats are hard vinyl. But with both soft and hard vinyl dated 1965, something is not correct as why would a company make the same doll in soft and hard vinyl in the same year...I know this didn't happen and I believe the soft vinyl is likely the original 1965 doll, or did all the 20" Pussy Cats come in hard vinyl as the doll I have measures 20" from head to back of heel so she's not the big baby like my soft vinyl (green-eyed 24") Pussy Cat that measures 22" to back of heel when laying flat on her back. My search for info continues...
