I was visiting with a elderly client when he shared that he had worked for NASA / JPL in the early 60s-70s . What an exciting time in the Space Race, he helped in the design of The Mariner 3 & 4. Upon his retirement he was presented this 1/10 scale model. It's a complete mock to scale of the Mariners.

Hello there. I was doing a search for the Mariner and came across your post here. I have been collecting info about my husband's grandfather who died in 1992. He also worked on the Mariner 4 at JPL. The thing is he died of a brain tumor and never told his family what he worked on because he was sworn to secrecy. He wouldn't even share what he was working on with his wife at the time. Now that I know there may be models of this Mariner, I will be looking for one. Thanks for posting.
