In 2015 The Museum of NSW Australia held an exhibition (MAMBO 30 YEARS OF SHELF INDULGENCE) which started me searching. After lots of emailing, authacation came personally from no other than the best artist that ever worked for Mambo, Reg Mombassa, " this was a print I remember, it was a one off precursor to the Mambo all over loud t shirt, late 80's ". The other person I have been very fortunate to contact personally was Wayne Golding who in the 1980's headed the art direction of all Mambo t shirts and posters, " this was released 1989 and entitled "Egypt, NSW" it was one of Reg's earliest designs for Mambo, and can remember that it was produced in the hundreds worldwide, rather than thousands. So with all this proof, (coraspondance printed), and unable to find any other reference to this design, I believe I have a very special piece of not only Australian surfing history, but Australian art history.
