London Stereoscopic Company
Remember the days before television, video, and the Internet? London Stereo sure does. This handsome site, a labor of love for Elena Vidal and Queen’s lead guitarist, Brian May, chronicles the history of the London Stereoscopic Company, one of the mid-19th-century’s leaders in early photography. There are pages devoted to stereo photographs, particularly those by an English photographer named T.R. Williams, as well as instructions on how to take and care for stereo images. You can even find a few modern stereo photos, including candid shots of the late, great Freddie Mercury.
