My parents vacationed in China over 30 years ago and brought this vase home. They have since passed and my brother is of the belief it is worth something of value/$$. However, after days of research, I am unable to locate the marking, type... Any ideas?

Hi, your mark, rotated 90 degrees clockwise is Japanese. It reads top down and right to left. The right stack is Ku Tani, or Kutani, Nine Valleys, an area in Japan noted for porcelain production with several hundred kilns. The left stack is a kiln, potter, or shop. I looked at a couple hundred marks without finding it, not uncommon. I have a few more places to look, will let you know if I find it.
