My late father was a beer, wine and liquor salesman for over 40 years. He retired over 25 years ago. I recently found a stash of old beer, wine and liquor signs in his garage and basement.
Among then, was this porcelain enamel Watneys 'Red Barrel" Beer sign.
Apparently my Dad put this sign away for safe keeping decades ago, because I found it tucked away in the draw of a very old dresser, safely wrapped in a towel. I'm guessing this sign could be at least 35-40 years old.
This sign is not a "tin", but rather a heavy metal sign. As you can see by the photo, it's in pristine condition.
To the best of my knowledge, neither my Dad or his company sold Watneys Beer.
