Pretty sure that your wall sconce was not used by the Mobil Corporation. Very neat item though. Gasoline globes all have 6 or 7 inch opening at the bottom, mostly 6. Probably came from a very nicely built building from the appropriate era. It does look alot older than the 60's, but it could have been made at any point in time.
