Nice daily wear jade ring picked up at the local Goodwill. Marking on band looks almost like a U with an arrow through it horizontally? There is also a number 6 to the right of the mark. Unable to locate the mark but still looking!
Based on your description of the mark I would say its by a company called Whitesides & Blank out of NewJersey, operated from 1899-1917. But the few pieces I have seen of W&B were all solid silver. Another possible maker is Carl-Art he started in the early 40's & company is still producing now I think. Hope I gave you at least a starting point good luck!
