This is a war bond poster with dimentions of 31 X 45 (inches). I bought it from a guy who was renovating his home. Apparently the prior home owner was a Shell gas station owner. When the current owner went to the attic to prepare for renovations, he found several of the above poster along with another diffent poster of the same dimention. The second poster is of a big tire which states "save rubber". I also have the second poster which is also framed but it is not as cool as the one I have posted today.
I would love to find out information about the posters. I have gone to the offical "Shell Oil" websight and have emailed them photos without a reply. I have gone to a number of websights which address war bond posters (these are WWII posters) and have had no luck. One sight replied stating that the posters are unique as they are substantially bigger than the average war bond poster.
I purchased each of the photos for no more than $100.00 a piece but have spent at least $400.00 in mounting & framing each photo. I have no regrets as everybody who sees the posters falls in love with them.
Any input or guidance as to the author or values would be appreciated.
