I purchased this antique oil painting at a church sale today for 50 cents. The painting has condition issues such as a small hole in the canvas and the frame is damaged, but it is an original painting that I believe is from the Victorian Era. You can tell from the back of the painting that the frame is handmade as it has that wonderful patina that comes with aged wood.
The artist is listed as M. B. Marré and I cannot find any information about him/her. If anyone knows, please tell me. I love this pick and have it hanging in my house and plan to admire it forever. Original art work is my favorite thing to find and I constantly look for unique pieces.
