I inherited this coin and some others. About how much is this coin worth? I am highly interested in selling it

Cristina: your coin appears to be of high grade with nice luster and sharp details. The gold market is hot ,by the end of the year some of the "experts" are projecting it to be pushing $1800 to $2000.To get a idea what your coin is selling for check out eBay Auction on the internet.Make sure you are comparing your coin to the same year, mint and condition.Have fun it researching out all of your coins.

@ Cristina - The good news is that with the rising price of gold, and the fact that double eagles have almost an ounce of gold in them, your coin is worth at least the value of its gold content which last time I looked it was a little over $1,600 an ounce.

The bad news is that the 1904-S is pretty common and in circulated condition (which yours is even though it is very nice), there is very little numismatic premium to the coin. Maybe $200 to $300 dollars premium depending on the final grade.

nice coin, I think in the very near future, numismatic values are going to skyrocket for gold and silver coins, as everyone is selling them for scrap/melting price. lets face it ,they only made so many
