I found this lamp today in a Pedler shop. The only name it has on it is Deena and then a C. I just thought it looked nice. The more I look at it the older it looks. The top has where a shade was at one time. that is old for sure. The cord was replaced and they added the old cord on it for some reason it is also old. I guess the cord wasn't long enough. It apears to be some kind of chalk. The lady is about 18 inches tall. the top of the lamp is another 8 to 10 inches.

Deena China was at one time the largest manufacurer of lamps in the country. The company was based in Chicago with a plant in Arlington and Paducah KY.
A great chalkware lamp, most certainly had a matching "boy" lamp.

Well I have news for you... I found your "dutch" lady... & her boyfriend! She's not Dutch, my guess is Russian or other east European... why? Because he is dressed like a Cossack out of the Volga Boatmen! & look closely at her, the high boots, peasant blouse & scarf... BUT Your picture helped me, I found the pair at a thrift store yesterday & said OH These need a Better Home! I bought 'em & when I got home, I found that although she has a pipe in her head (someone removed the lamp & wiring) he did NOT... well not so fast... the back of his cossack hat is BLACK, the front... olive drab & there's a wee spot where maybe the pipe was sawed off... nope, they took putty or play doh & made his hat bigger to cover it. I think they might have tried to haul it out, as there is a hairline crack across his torso, but REALLY they are wonderful. I'm saying 1930's but could have been late twenties. I sorta rule out the forties as the war was going on & we were scrimping. Will send in a picture once I figure out how. I'm not very computer literate. BUT I AM GLAD I found this website! It's wonderful! & Now I know what the lamps should have looked like. Blessings! Mahalo!
