I've managed to determine that this is a gun case (based on the presence of the name 'Fenwick', fishing rod case was in the running for a while but has been discarded). Any additional information would be welcomed though... age? rarity? value? significance of Secord monogram? etc. etc. Thanks in advance!

Fenwick was a fishing tackle manufacturer. It's probably a rod case.
