I am sooo glad you found this site!! Thank you so much for sharing these!!
Don't usually like dolls, but this is exceptional. Beautiful. DD@Phila
It is a fortune telling doll. You choose a leaf and the message on tells your fortune:
'une personne t'aime d'amour" " someone loves you deeply".
A rare and beautiful iem.
These are just so unique and enchanting! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful Tuck Comb peg wooden doll as a Fotune Teller . Wonderful thanks for sharing her . They also did these as peddlers dolls carring wares to sell haning from their clothes
This is VERY COOL! I've seen tuck comb dolls before but never one dressed as a fortune teller.
They did dress several as fortune tellers also as peddlers that carried all their wares on clothes lots of trickets in minature sizes . Beautiful doll and not common to find in such wonderful condition . Glad to see another doll person here Dollmaker :-)
You're welcome, Manikin. You have a wonderful collection of dolls. I have seen the tuck combs or other peg woodens dressed as the peddlar dolls. This fortune teller, though, is a lot rarer, I bet. Especially having those papers in her skirt, you wouldn't expect a lot of them to survive the ravages of time.
Yes it is amazing that the paper is in such wonderful condition . Wouldn't it be wonderful to find one like this Dollmaker :-) We better have a big check book too .
Alas, I shall have to make my own; my checkbook is small!!!
Mine too :) we better start folding now lol
The doll is for sale, but if you want patterns ,or better pictures to make the same , It would be my pleasure .
I'll put pictures and pattern on my web site "comptoir-des-dentelles.com" within a few days
Oh, I'd LOVE a pattern!!! Thank you, comptoir!!!
Me too :-)
