This is a vintage check imprinter, made by The Hedman Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Ill - this one is the "Royal Model", serial number 2769728 and it cost $115 new in 1914. It is in excellent, perfectly working condition. The imprinting face needs new ink, but it will imprint with macerated words and numerals "PAY $___ AND __ CTS" up to the amount of $999,999.99.
