Need help identifying what type of medal or award this is. It looks Masonic but cant' tell for sure.
Found it at an garage sale and they didn't know what it was only that their grandfather or great grandfather had owned it. We picked it up as it looked so unique and possibly a collector's piece.
Not sure of the metal of the star. The symbols on it are a crown & scepter, chalice, a bird and two others that we can't describe.
The star measures 2 1/2 in. It has a scroll like bar on the top right side that is attached to an old satin like hanger.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give us and clear up this mystery.

It looks like the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star, but I'm no expert. Not sure about the sun in the center, but everything else looks right.
Thanks, that's a start on identifying this item. The sun inside the keystone may or may not represent something.
