I inherited this plate from my late father who was an avid railroad and maritime collector. He spent much of his life in Duluth, MN, researching railroad and ore boats. The plate weighs 11 pounds and is solid brass. We know from our research that Bethlehem Steel made both ships and locomotives, and was heavily involved in both efforts during World War II.
Does anyone recognize this type of plate? Is it from a locomotive, a ship's engine, or...?
Any information would be much appreciated!
